ADI Museum in collaboration with Fondazione Bonotto present
Extreme Present
an exhibition that proposes a reflection between past, present and future, involving the public in a dialogue that explores the ongoing transitions in society and design, with a particular focus on the theme of sustainability. The extreme present, to which the title refers, can be understood both in temporal terms - a today dilated between the past and the future that we already glimpse - and in terms of "urgency" for the issues that the human species is facing and trying to solve.

Curated by Francesca Grassi and Domiziana Bani, Extreme Present is a “meta exhibition”, an exhibition experiment that aims to foster a participatory approach between the museum and people, inviting them to undertake a process of discovery that promotes among visitors a commitment to reflecting on the design of their world.
This open research aims to weave connections with other realities and make the public an integral part of the experience. Through the intersections between the arts and a narrative constructed with a “filmic” rhythm, the exhibition develops as a journey through characters, works, design objects, photography, books, music and ideas. The theme of the exhibition itself is connected to the concept of travel, exploring the dualism between nomadism and sedentary living and offering a reflection on living in a broad sense.

The exhibition is structured around seven themes – Tents, Domes, Nomad Living, Energy, Water, Food, Waste – to explore the connections between different aspects of contemporaneity. The focus is on living and the search for less impactful solutions, with references to nomadism, travel and the relationship with the planet.

The entire installation is based on the principle of sustainability and recovery, favoring the use of recyclable and reusable materials. The tapestries, designed by Giovanni Bonotto, made with fabrics obtained 100% from recycled plastics, are the result of the precious collaboration with the Fondazione Bonotto, partner of the exhibition, which has made available the materials selected from its archives. The metal structures are made up of a modular system created by Interexpo and beMatrix, which can be reused by reassembling in different configurations, with a biofabric finish created by Edizero.
