During Operaestate Festival Veneto 38, "Drift" by Caroline Bergvall will be presented.
Well-known international artist, Bergvall received the award Prix Littéraire Bernard Heidsieck-Centre Pompidou 2017 (Prix de l'année), supported by Fondazione Bonotto. "Drift" is a live show for solo voice, percussion & electronic text. Bergvall will perform together with Ingar Zach, percussion, and Thomas Köppel, visual data projection.
A performance inspired by the language and themes of the "Seafarer", an anonymous Anglo-Saxon poem from the 10th century and official material from a current sea migrants’ tragedy in the Mediterranean. A contemporary meditation on migration, exiles and sea-travel.
