"At the end of the 1960s "art as process" as opposed to art as finished object (including text) was being discussed a great deal. These are my speculations on the subject. I mimeographed my speculations sometime in the early 1970s using the A. B. Dick machine, which I then gave away to my neighbor, Lawrence Freifeld. It was subsequently burned up in a fire at his place." (D.H.)
